01Getting started

Create an account with an email and password. This is your ADVSMS identity — separate from your Google account, so you can manage billing and preferences without re-authenticating with Google every time.

Right after signup you'll be asked to connect Google Search Console. This is a one-time OAuth authorization, read-only: ADVSMS can see your Search Console data but never modify it. You can revoke access anytime from your Google Account permissions page.

Signup is protected by a hidden honeypot field and IP-based rate limiting rather than a CAPTCHA — you won't be asked to solve puzzles, but repeated failed attempts from the same address are automatically throttled. Passwords must be at least 8 characters; there's no separate email-verification step, so you're logged in immediately after creating your account.

02The live dashboard

Once connected, every property in your Google Search Console account appears in the site switcher at the top of the dashboard, sorted alphabetically. Pick a site, pick a period (7/28/90 days), and the Overview, Keywords, Pages, and Geo & Device tabs update accordingly.

Data is fetched live from the Google API on each visit and cached briefly per session — use the refresh button to force a reload if you need the very latest numbers. The dashboard has no time limit and no site limit: every property you manage in Google Search Console shows up here for free.

The site switcher in the top navigation lists every property alphabetically by domain, so a portfolio of dozens of sites stays easy to scan. Your account menu also gives one-click access to Profile, Billing details, Orders and Manage Insights without leaving the dashboard.

03Activating Insight SEO on a site

Insight SEO is a per-site upgrade. Your account includes 1 free slot; more become available when you activate a paid package (10, 20, or 50 sites, valid 12 months).

To activate a site: open it, go to the Insight SEO tab, and if you have a free slot, click "Activate Insight on this site" — no payment needed. The system then automatically pulls in the last 90 days of history for that site (this runs in the background and can take a little while for sites with a lot of history).

Deactivating Insight on a site immediately frees its slot for reassignment to a different site — nothing is charged again, and the freed slot simply becomes available the next time you activate a site from the same order.

04Understanding Content Decay & Striking Distance

Content Decay compares the last N days against the previous N days and flags pages whose clicks dropped significantly — these are candidates for a content refresh or a technical check.

Striking Distance lists queries where you rank in position 8 to 20: close enough to page one that a small push (internal linking, a title tweak, a content update) could realistically move the needle.

Both Content Decay and Striking Distance use adaptive thresholds: on a newer or lower-traffic site, the minimum click/impression bar to qualify is automatically lowered so the tab still surfaces something useful instead of staying empty — a small "limited data" note appears whenever this adjustment kicks in.

05Cannibalization analysis

When two or more pages on your site receive clicks for the same query, they may be competing against each other instead of Google clearly picking a winner. The Cannibalization tab surfaces these cases, showing which page currently leads and which others are splitting the traffic.

To label each competing page with its real title (not just the raw URL), ADVSMS runs a lightweight crawler against pages with existing traffic — fetching only the title tag, canonical link and meta robots directive, respecting each site's robots.txt rules, and capped at a modest daily request quota per site so it never behaves like an aggressive bot.

06Alerts and the changelog

A daily automatic check compares your latest data against recent history and opens an alert when a query disappears or drops sharply in position. You'll get an email digest — toggle it on or off from the user menu.

The Changelog lets you log SEO changes (a new title, an internal-linking pass, a migration) with a date, then measure the actual before/after impact on clicks, impressions, CTR, and position for a chosen time window.

Alerts resolve themselves automatically the next time the daily scan runs, if the underlying issue is no longer detected — you never need to dismiss them manually unless you want to close one early.

07Plans, orders and billing

Plans grant a number of Insight slots for 12 months. Orders can be paid by bank transfer (activation is manual, confirmed within 1-2 business days once payment is received) or PayPal (instant activation). Your billing details are saved once and reused for every future order — manage them from the "Billing details" link in the user menu.

Bank transfer orders are activated manually by ADVSMS staff after the payment is confirmed to have arrived — this is a deliberate human checkpoint, not an automated bank-feed integration. PayPal orders are captured and activated instantly through PayPal's own API once you approve the payment.

ADVSMS only collects billing information for the order summary — it does not issue electronic invoices automatically.

08FAQ

Does connecting Google give ADVSMS write access?
No. The only permission requested is read-only Search Console access, plus your basic Google profile (name, email, picture) for the account itself. Nothing on your site or in Search Console is ever modified.
What happens to a site if my Insight slot expires?
The site keeps showing up in the free live dashboard forever. Only the Insight SEO tabs (Content Decay, Alerts, Cannibalization, etc.) become unavailable until you activate a new slot.
Can I switch languages?
Yes, anytime, from the EN/IT switch in the top navigation — the interface and all transactional emails follow your choice.
What happens to my data if a paid package expires?
Nothing is deleted. The site keeps showing up in the free live dashboard exactly as before — only the Insight SEO tabs become unavailable until you activate a new slot for that site, at which point the historical data picks back up.
Can I pay with PayPal, or only bank transfer?
Both are supported. PayPal activates your order instantly after payment. Bank transfer requires manual confirmation by ADVSMS staff, typically within 1-2 business days of the payment arriving.
Does ADVSMS ever write data back to Google Search Console?
No, never. The only Google permission requested is read-only access to Search Console data plus basic profile information — there is no feature, anywhere in the product, that modifies anything in your Search Console property.

09Technical details & limits

Google refresh tokens are encrypted at rest with AES-256 before being stored — even direct database access would not expose usable Search Console credentials. All Google permissions requested are strictly read-only; no code path in ADVSMS ever writes to your Search Console property.

The background crawler used for Cannibalization page titles is capped at 200 requests per site per day. The on-demand URL Inspection spot-check (used in the Indexing tab) is capped at 150 requests per site per day, matching a conservative fraction of Google's own per-property quota. Slot backfills after activation are processed in small batches roughly every 15 to 30 minutes rather than all at once, to stay within standard hosting execution limits.

Search Console data itself has an inherent reporting lag of a few days on Google's side — ADVSMS ingests data with a matching delay so the numbers you see are complete, not partially-reported placeholders that would later change.
